Thursday Thoughts: Reimagining Self-Care

Self care is all the rage right now.

We live in a me-centric society, and we are constantly being fed messages about taking care of you and you do you, girl, and treat yo’sef. Most often, this looks like getting a manicure, eating junk food, getting a massage, or helping yourself to a little retail therapy.

Now, none of these things are inherently wrong, but I think our priorities are off.

When you are willing to drop $50 on your nails, but won’t invest in real food, or clean, organic supplements, maybe it’s time to reevaluate.

You are the best investment you could make! Your health is your greatest wealth, and by budgeting to care for the body God gave you, you are lengthening your lifespan.

If you make a priority of feeling good from the inside out rather than the outside in, you will be surprised at how well-cared for you feel.

Look at your bills, and see how you can rethink a few things. Is it more important to have a pantry full of junk food, or high quality eggs, bacon and meat?

You are capable of more than you think! Invest in your health. You won’t regret it!
